Mothers have a special bond with their children. When they are young we nurture them and help them grow into a well structured human being. It never cross our minds that at some point in time our children will leave us. It’s not until after the children graduate from high school that mothers realize that their daily interaction with their child will soon come to an end. As a mother I can totally understand being apprehensive with my child going away to college. It’s inevitable, our children will grow up. We just have expect it to happen sooner than later.
However as a child I can also understand wanting the independence of being away from your parents. I went away to college and never turned back, well not never but a long 5 years. I enjoyed the peace and freedom. It wasn’t until I became a mother myself that I reflected back on that time and realized how hard it must have been for my mom, for all moms.
This is the current situation for Kim & Kayla. Kayla is getting ready to embark on the adventure of college and Kim is getting ready to discover daily life without Kayla.
Kim wanted a session with just the two of them before Kayla left for college. I was more than happy to say YES!
